Frequently Asked Questions

Basic Information…

  • If I’m interested in training, what is the best way to get started?
    • It’s recommended that you schedule a consultation to meet with one of our trainers so they can determine the best training plan for your dog.
  • What happens during dog daycare?
    • Dogs play and socialize together in a safe and controlled environment for a majority of the day. We give them down time for a couple of hours in between socializing to ensure a safe and positive daycare experience for all dogs involved.
  • I’m experiencing biting and aggression with my dog, what would be the best training to sign up for?
    • A consultation would need to be scheduled for any dog showing this type of behavior. Our trainers may recommend Board & Train for the dog’s training plan to have more success in changing the dog’s behavior and correcting the aggression issues.
  • What should I bring if my dog is coming for boarding?
    • The only required item to bring is enough food for your dog, for the duration of its stay with us. Clients are welcome to bring pillows, blankets, toys, etc., if they feel it will make their dog more comfortable during its stay with us.

    • We currently offer 4 different training classes that cover leash training, handler skills, behavior correction, and more. See our services page for more information!

Scheduling Services…

  • If I have never done boarding or daycare with your facility before, can I just drop off my dog or do I have to schedule it?
    • All services need to be scheduled so that our trainers and staff know best how to care for your dog while it’s with us. It helps us keep our staff safe as well as provide the best experience for your dog and the other dogs at our facility.
  • How far in advance do I need to schedule services for my dog?
    • Our schedule fills up fairly quickly and we cannot guarantee availability if services are scheduled within a few days. Preferred scheduling time is 3-4 weeks in advance.
  • If I need to pick up my dog later in the evening, is that an option?
    • Pick-up time is from 4-6pm. Dog pick-ups after 6pm are not approved due to our group classes being held in the evenings and our boarding dogs needing care before our staff leaves for the day.
  • Is it possible for me to drop my dog off after 9am for daycare?
    • Dogs coming for daycare must be here before 9am. Allowing a dog to enter daycare after it has already begun can be a safety issue for all the dogs and staff involved.

    • Boarding is $40 a day, a day being a 24 hour period.
    • i.e., If you drop off your dog at 8am on a Friday morning, and pick up on Saturday at 8am, for a full 24 hours, the cost would be $40.

  • If something comes up and I need to schedule next day services, can I do that?
    • Scheduling next day services is possible, but we cannot guarantee availability. Scheduling services as far in advance as possible is preferred.

  • It’s been a couple of years since I last came to your facility for anything. Can I still schedule daycare?
    • Due to new policies that started on March 1, 2019, clients that we have not worked with for a few years must schedule a Private Daycare session for their dog so we may evaluate it’s behavior and make sure it would be a good fit with our other daycare dogs.
  • Where can I get the proper training tools to ensure training happens at my home and not just at your facility?
    • We provide most of our clients with the necessary training tools they will need to implement training in their home. We sell collars, leashes, muzzles, and more to help with these trainings.
  • Can I schedule a consultation for a trainer to come to my house if I don’t live in Athens?
    • Our trainers will travel up to an hour outside of Athens, OH for consultations. A travel fee of up to $35 may apply. Clients are also welcome to schedule the consultation to be here at our training facility if they would prefer not to pay a travel fee.
  • How long does training take?
    • Our training plans are customized to each dog. Training for some dogs may take a day or two, and other it may take years. Our trainers will work with you to achieve goals set for your dog and recommend a timeline to reach those goals.
  • If I can’t schedule a consultation during office hours, can I schedule something in the evenings or on the weekends?
    • We have select consultation times available on Saturdays, if needed. Consultations cannot be scheduled in the evenings so our trainers can hold the group training classes that we offer.
